A Nigerian woman recently voiced her astonishment after attending a church-organised singles’ night, expecting a lively mix of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes eager to connect.
Voicing her surprise, she encountered a crowd which largely composed of single women, prompting her to question the state of romance in modern times.
In a viral video clip circulating on social media platforms, the lady said: “I went to a singles’ night at church, and I was surprised at the amount of single women in attendance. I thought I was the only one left. Where are the single men? Is love dying?”
The attendee had apparently believed she was among the few remaining single women in her community, only to discover many others facing the same reality noting that the pastor confirmed a thousand single ladies at the gathering. In her candid reaction, she noted that these single ladies were of different beauty, sizes and shape questioning if the era is now an era of living the same life.
Observers and commenters noted that such level of difference are common in Nigerian churches, where women often outnumber men in attendance overall.
