Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has ignited widespread reactions online with his raw and emotional Instagram story following the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar.
“Who da fck are we??? If a retired major general fit just kpai like that. Who da fck are you???” Rudeboy expressed deep shock and frustration as the tragic news broke on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

The former Director of Defence Information was kidnapped alongside his wife, Hajiya Amina Abubakar, on May 30, 2026, along the Karaduwa–Matazu Road in Katsina State. The couple was traveling in a red Peugeot 504 to attend a wedding when armed bandits ambushed them. Their driver escaped with gunshot injuries.
In captivity, the couple appeared in proof-of-life videos pleading for government intervention as the abductors demanded the release of arrested associates. Tragically, the Katsina State Government confirmed that General Abubakar died in the bandits’ custody from complications arising from diabetes and hypertension.
The state governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, described the incident as a “dark moment” for the state and the nation. Rudeboy’s outburst has captured the collective pain and anger of many Nigerians, who now question: if a decorated retired senior military officer is not safe, then who is?
His wife’s current condition is still unclear as security agencies continue efforts to secure her release.
