Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G, has opened up about how she felt portraying some of the most feared and controversial characters in Nigerian films.
For decades, Patience Ozokwo has been one of Nollywood’s most recognisable faces, earning widespread acclaim for her remarkable ability to play strict mothers, intimidating mothers-in-law, and often wicked or manipulative characters.
Her performances became so convincing that many viewers struggled to separate her on-screen roles from her real-life personality.
During a recent interaction with fan, one admirer asked the actress how she felt whenever she had to portray such wicked roles in movies.
In response to the question, Mama G explained that she never viewed those characters as reflections of who she truly is.
She said: “I feel bold to expose the ills in the society, these things happen and nobody wants to expose them, I am exposing them. I am not like that. But I expose it.”
