Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has made headlines after openly declaring that he loves his wife, Toyosi Etim-Effiong, more than his children.
During his appearance on the Mansplanation podcast, the actor explained that his affection for Toyosi surpasses his feelings for their kids.
He emphasised that while his children occupy a deeply special and irreplaceable place in his heart, his wife remains his foremost priority.
In his words: “I love my wife more than my children. My wife comes first before my children. Although they have a really special place in my heart, their mom comes first.”
This underscores his belief in nurturing the foundation of their marriage first, viewing it as essential for a strong family unit.

Daniel and Toyosi’s love story began when they met in August 2016 while collaborating on a project. Their connection grew quickly, leading to their traditional wedding on November 2, 2017, in Lagos, followed by a beautiful white wedding on November 4, 2017.
Amid Daniel’s rising fame and frequent romantic roles in Nollywood, including kissing scenes that often spark online debates, Toyosi has consistently shown unwavering support. She has publicly dismissed concerns from netizens, viewing his on-screen performances purely as professional acting.
In various interviews and podcasts, she has reaffirmed her trust in him, stating she’s unbothered by such scenes and even giving him the freedom to handle roles as required.
