Afrobeat singer and activist, Seun Kuti, has once again stirred controversy with his latest remarks aimed at Nigerian multi-talented singer, Wizkid and his fanbase, popularly known as Wizkid FC.
In a fiery statement circulating on social media, Seun Kuti strongly condemned what he described as a persistent attempt by Wizkid’s supporters to associate the global music star with his legendary father, Fela Kuti.
“Wizkid FC needs to keep Fela’s name out of their mouth, You people try to steal the man’s image
“You try to claim your fake artiste is the new Fela. It’s an insult to Fela to call Wizkid the new Fela,” Seun Kuti said.
He further stated that comparing Wizkid to Fela shows a lack of understanding of what Fela represented musically, socially, and politically.

According to Seun, “Wizkid FC are the most ignorant fanbase in the world.”
However this is not the first time Seun Kuti has clashed with Wizkid fans. In the past, he has maintained that no contemporary Nigerian artist can be compared to Fela in terms of revolutionary impact and message.
