Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has presented a brand-new 2025 SUV Jeep to Dr. Yinka Ayefele, Chairman of Fresh FM Nigeria.
This gesture comes as a show of support following the devastating fire outbreak at Fresh FM’s headquarters in Ibadan on August 15, 2025. The fire severely impacted the radio station’s facilities, including the newsroom, transmitter, server room, and critical broadcasting equipment.

During the presentation, Makinde commended Ayefele for his resilience and contributions to the entertainment industry and media growth in Oyo State. The governor was represented by Hon. Ademola Ijaya, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, who handed over the SUV keys to Ayefele.

Ayefele expressed deep gratitude for the governor’s gesture, stating that it has turned his pain into joy. He described the gift as a reminder that there is hope after every tragedy. Ayefele was visibly moved by emotions as he received the SUV, thanking the governor for the unexpected support.
The fire outbreak at Fresh FM’s headquarters occurred on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Music House complex in the Challenge area of Ibadan. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Governor Makinde had earlier visited the station to assess the damage and commiserate with Ayefele and the staff.
