Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has reacted to Big Brother Naija star Uriel Oputa comments regarding the passing of veteran actor Fabian Adibe.
Uriel had vowed to “knock” actors who would show “fake love” over her after Fabian Adibe’s passing, implying that people only reach out when someone is down.
Etinosa replied back, saying Uriel’s comments were tone-deaf and disregarding the genuine grief people might feel when a colleague passes away. She pointed out that just because someone wasn’t in regular contact with the deceased doesn’t mean their condolences are insincere. Etinosa also mentioned that her own uncle didn’t reach out to people when he was alive, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t show respect after his passing.
In Etinosa’s words while reacting to Uriel’s comment: “Agreed, we all have the right to grieve however we want. But when a celebrity dies, there is always one person looking for a fight about “don’t post him, don’t show him fake love”…. His colleagues and fans have every right to show sadness over his passing whether they check up on him or not. It is not fake love. Everyone has something they are dealing with and your uncle didn’t check up on anyone either when he was strong. Let’s not always soil a great person memorial with unnecessary fight/bad energy. Allow people show love however they can…Be kind to one other cos people you’re calling out are also going through life and it’s challenges. Please accept my sincere condolences 🙏🏽❤️ @urielmusicstar”
As reported by eelive.ng, the veteran actor passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2025.
