Over the past few weeks, there have been swirling rumours of an alleged crash in the marriage between popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie and his colleague turned second wife, Judy Austin.
The latest buzz about the celebrity couple started about two months ago after reports surfaced on social media that the actor was caught cheating with another actress.
A quick check by this online newspaper on their individual Instagram pages also revealed that Judy had not recently shared her usual videos praising Yul, further fueling the speculations.
Silence is not the usual style of the couple, as they are always quick to debunk social media rumours associated with them.
However, despite growing social media speculations that the couple’s marriage is troubled, neither Yul nor Judy have publicly addressed, nor have they clapped back at mockers and ‘online in-laws’
Instead of posting a video professing his love for Judy or sharing a sentimental video about their relationship, Yul Edochie discussed marriages on his Facebook page on Tuesday. He spoke about how the union between two lovers comes with many challenges. “Marriage comes with a lot of challenges,” he wrote.
As their silence becomes deafening and public tongues wag, many believe that what began as a beautiful journey, despite public disapproval, has finally crashed.
How Yul Edochie, Judy started
Yul introduced Judy Austin as his second wife in April 2022, announcing the birth of their first child together, news that was met with strong disapproval from his first wife, May.
In August 2023, May filed for divorce from the actor and demanded ₦100 million in damages. By June 2024, her legal team, DPA Family Clinic, alleged that Yul had stopped caring for his children.
In a separate controversy, Judy’s former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, accused her of denying him access to their children for 10 years.
