Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has shared a personal story about his early success, revealing that his parents initially doubted the legitimacy of his wealth.
Zlatan disclosed that when he purchased his first house worth ₦70 million, his parents refused to move in, believing the money used to acquire the property was obtained through fraudulent means, commonly referred to as “Yahoo”.

Speaking during a recent interview, Zlatan explained that the situation became so serious that he had to involve a legal professional to clarify the source of his income to his parents.
“My parents refused to live in the first house I bought for ₦70 million because they thought it was Yahoo money. I had to get a lawyer to explain music money,” he said.
The rapper further opened up about the strict upbringing he experienced while living under his parents’ roof. According to him, they enforced rules that reflected their concern for discipline and moral values.
“When we were living together, they told me to be home before 10pm and even made me sign a contract not to get tattoos,” he added.
Despite the initial doubts, Zlatan’s success has since become widely recognised, with his journey serving as an example of how persistence and talent can eventually earn family trust and public admiration in Nigeria’s evolving entertainment industry.
