Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy is celebrating the 14th anniversary of Mavin Records, the influential label he founded on May 8, 2012.
Marking the milestone with an emotional tribute, the producer reflected on the label’s remarkable journey from its humble beginnings to becoming one of Africa’s leading entertainment powerhouses.
In his message, Don Jazzy wrote: “14 years later and we are still building for our future. I am grateful to everyone who has supported the vision, the artists, the music, and the culture.”

The anniversary was accompanied by a teaser video featuring silhouetted figures and the Roman numeral ‘XIV’, sparking excitement and speculation about new projects, including rumours of Mavin’s first girl group.
Since its inception with the compilation album Solar Plexus, Mavin Records has nurtured global Afrobeats stars such as Rema, Ayra Starr, Tiwa Savage, Ladipoe, Johnny Drille, and many others. The label has played a pivotal role in exporting Nigerian music worldwide while maintaining a strong focus on talent development, including through its Mavin Academy.
Don Jazzy’s vision of building a lasting legacy for Nigeria and Africa continues to drive the label forward. Despite major partnerships, including a significant stake acquired by Universal Music Group in previous years, the culture remains the same: consistent growth, innovation, and cultural impact.
