2Baba at 50: A Legendary Career, Love, and Controversy

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, is celebrating his 50th birthday today, September 18, 2025.

The Afrobeats legend has had a storied career spanning over two decades, with numerous hits and awards to his name. His personal life has, on the other hand, been a subject of interest, particularly his recent marriage to Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly.

Born on September 18, 1975, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, the legendary singer rose to fame in the late 1990s with his group Plantashun Boiz. After the group disbanded, he launched a successful solo career, releasing his debut album “Face 2 Face” in 2004.

The album was a huge hit, establishing him as a leading figure in Nigerian music. With hits like “African Queen,” 2Baba paved the way for Afrobeats globally.
