Sumbo, who is married to David Adeoye, founder of the Royalty Christian Centre, has spoken about her past relationship with music star 2Baba and how those experiences influenced who she is now.
On a recent episode of The Morayo Show, Sunmbo spoke openly about the challenges she has faced.
She once dated the ‘African Queen’ singer, and they have two sons together.
The discussion quickly shifted to the many challenges she has faced over the years.

Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the host, prompted Sunmbo by outlining her life’s trajectory: “You have had baby daddy issues that gave you two boys, then you got married, had miscarriage issues, IVF issues, and God now blessed you with boys again.
“Last year, you also celebrated 12 years of marriage. Tell us in a nutshell how this experience you have had has made you who you are.”

In her answer, Sunmbo shared the mindset that helped her get through tough times. She said she decided early on not to let a hard season define her whole life.
She also pointed out that while people talk about redemption and new beginnings, it is much harder to live them out, especially when they go against what you hoped for.

“I chose not to equate a bad season with a bad life. I realised that people celebrate redemption and new creation reality only in theory. It is easy to preach grace, but when you have to extend it to a fellow human being, especially when it disrupts your expectations, it becomes really difficult,” she said.
“So that season kind of taught me that God has a plan for everyone. He takes you on a journey for you to find yourself, and once your identity is settled, people’s expectations lose their intimidation. So you are not performing, you are flowing from the place of purpose.”
David and Sunmbo tied the knot in 2013. The clergyman had been married for years without children. His first wife, however, passed away in 2011.
