A timely advocacy song Not For Sale surfaced earlier yesterday ahead of the 2019 general elections. The collaborative track sees the likes of 2Baba, MI Abaga, Chidimma, Waje, Teni, Umar Shareef and Cobham Asuquo lend vocals.

Leading the pack is 2Baba who is notable for his advocacy works through songs like For Instance, and E Be Like Say. In 2015, he campaigned for a free and fair election. Recently, he was part of the Power of 1 project that advocates for better government policies.

Not For Sale is an afro pop offering with advocacy message that educates the masses not to sell their votes. To help reflect the diversity of the country, singers like Chidimma and Shareef rendered their verses in vernacular with the rest singing in pidgin-english. The visuals projects the diverse culture of Nigeria  through costumes while plying it with vigorous contemporary dance patterns to help the younger generations relate with its message.

To help drive home the goal of the project, highlights satirising politicians’ dark schemes of securing votes by paying the citizenry a token took a central focus.

Directed by Bobby Ha, and produced by Cobhams, Not For Sale hopes to be a powerful vehicle that directs the populace to make the right choices in the upcoming elections.
