2baba, Others Pay Homage To Kennis Music Founders

Music legend, Innocent Idibia otherwise known as 2baba, has paid homage to Kenny “Keke” Ogungbe and Dayo “D1” Adeneye, Kennis Music founders.

Speaking during a virtual tribute event held on Sunday, August 2, 2020, as part of activities leading up to the Music Week Nigeria Conference (MWN 2020), scheduled to hold between the Wednesday, August 5 and Saturday, August 8, 2baba admitted that it would be impossible to talk about the Nigerian music industry, especially in its current form, without laying testament to the important work done by Kennis Music and its founders.

The music star also highlighted the impact of Keke and D1’s guidance and investment on his music career, saying he will ever be grateful to them.

Amongst those who also spoke at the virtual event was Audu Maikori, a co-founder of Chocolate City, who’s the convener of the MWN.

On his part, he explained that the Kennis Music founders were being honoured because of their sacrifice for the Nigerian music industry.

His words; “As music industry, we owe an enormous debt to the vision and sacrifice of Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye; who paved the way for many of us to be where we are today as a music industry.

“It is due to the hard and painstaking work done by Keke and D1 that Nigerian music has become the mainstay not just on our airwaves but on various platforms globally.”
