1. Sound of Metal

During a series of adrenaline-fueled one-night gigs, itinerant punk-metal drummer Ruben (Riz Ahmed) begins to experience intermittent hearing loss. When a specialist tells him his condition will rapidly worsen, he thinks his music career — and with it, his life — is over.

His bandmate and girlfriend Lou (Olivia Cooke) checks him into a secluded sober house for the deaf; in hopes it will prevent relapse and help him learn to adapt to his new situation.

But after being welcomed into a community that accepts him just as he is, Ruben has to choose between his equilibrium and the drive to reclaim the life he once knew. Using startling, innovative sound design techniques, director Darius Marder takes audiences inside Ruben’s experience to vividly recreate his journey into a rarely examined world.

The story of, two strong characters and how they collide and are permanently changed in the events that ensue, after a re-union that brings back memories of a toxic post. Woven into their lives are the friends and loved ones who can try to make the best out of a sticky situation. Whether they succeed or fail is up to fate.

3. I Care A Lot

A crooked legal guardian who drains the savings of her elderly wards meets her match when a woman she tries to swindle turns out to be more than she first appears.

4. BlackRose

Rose has a firm understanding of the virtuous woman as imparted by her mother, not so practised by her sister. Her desire for a better life without selling her dignity seems to be in the person of Desmond.

Rose falls in love with Desmond at first sight regardless of their differences. He introduces her to everything he knows rather untimely and before she can stop herself, she is wrapped in his world; a dark place she would rather not be.

5. The White Tiger

If you love movies with a good antihero and great social and cultural commentary, this is an AMAZING film to finish off your weekend with.
