5 Nigerian Celebrities That May Not be Thinking Marriage Soon
Marriage is something that has become a way of life among ordinary people and celebrities. It is usually said that being married is a blessing. Still, some people think otherwise. These five celebrities may not be inclined to get married soon.
1. Genevieve Nnaji
Genevieve is one of the most successful actresses in Nigeria, and her works have gone beyond the shores of Nigeria. But a lot of Nigerians believe that it doesn’t matter how much you have achieved as a lady if you’re not married.
The award-winning “Lionheart” actress opened up about marriage in a recent interview with Vanguard Newspapers, saying: “If I get married, I want to stay married, and staying married is not an easy thing. It means you are completely in tune with your partner. It means you have found your soul mate because you will have to be able to stand a lot of disappointments that would come, but then again you have to learn to forgive.”
A lot of single people who are facing the pressure to get married, especially from themselves, should take this advice and not rush into marriage.
2. Don Jazzy
There has been a bit of controversy around the exact age of this frontline music producer, whose real name is Micheal Collins Ajereh. Nevertheless, the record label owner and businessman says he is not ready for marriage. In a 2015 interview conducted in Mauritius, Don Jazzy said, in response to when he’d be getting married, “I have absolutely no idea.”
Regarding the rumours about a child he supposedly fathered, he said, “I don’t know if I have a child somewhere, but for now, I don’t. I don’t mind if someone comes and says this 9-year-old boy is your son and we do a test and I see it’s mine, I won’t mind. But if I have a child before the wedding, I won’t get married anymore because there’s no point”. So, Don Jazzy will instead focus on building his empire for now.
3. Tina Mba
Tina Mba is a veteran actress known for playing the role of a mother or wife. Notwithstanding this, Mba remains unmarried and doesn’t think she will be for a while.
In an interview with The PUNCH, when asked about her view on marriage, she answered, “God is love, and if you believe in God, you must also believe in love. Love is the relationship between two people, and I don’t think I’m doing badly in that department.”
“To be honest, I am fulfilled. As for getting married, let’s see what the future holds. I have love in my life and a partner. Sometimes, you don’t find love when people expect you to.”
“Sometimes, you don’t even find it when you expect to. But when you wait patiently and are open and true to yourself, not wanting to live by other peoples’ standards, you’ll find love in the rarest places. It’s not a prospect anymore. I have found love. I am in love and will stay in love.”
According to her, having someone to love, beautiful children and grandchildren, and a successful carried are enough for her.
4. Kate Henshaw
The beautiful 49-year-old actress is now enjoying her single life after breaking off her marriage with her ex-husband, Robert Nuttal. She has stayed unmarried ever since and has been posting videos and pictures of her going on vacation and living the baby girl life. Seeing that society’s demand for marriage does not pressure her, Kate Henshaw is one of the celebrities that may not be considering getting married again anytime soon.
5. Frederick Leonard
Last on the list of celebrities is actor Fredrick Leonard. Leonard is one of Nollywood’s most eligible bachelors and a ladies’ man. With his good looks and success, many people can’t help but wonder why this man isn’t married yet. According to him, he intends to take his time to avoid the risk of marrying the wrong person. Leonard says he is waiting until he finds “The One”. We hope he finds ‘the one’ out of all the women frolicking around him.
