7 “Harry Potter” Actors Who Have Appeared on “Games of Thrones”

You might not have notice but the “Harry Potter” and “Game of Thrones” world keeps colliding. Although both franchises are very disparate, they have one thing in common and it is not the deep fondness its viewers and fans have for either of them, it’s their actors.

Here are 7 actors who have appeared in both series:

 

Jim Broadbent played the somewhat daft Professor Slughorn who once taught potions at Hogwarts. He was also Archmaster Ebrose at the Citadel in GOT.

Michelle Fairley had a brief role in the first installment of “Deathly Hallows” as Hermoine’s mother but in GOT, she is known as the iron-willed Catelyn Stark.

The cruel caretaker at Hogwarts, Argus Filch, played by David Bradley was in “Game of Thrones” as the terrible head of House of Frey who betrayed the Stark family but was killed by Arya in season six, Walder Frey.

Hagrid’s 7ft1 love interest, Madame Olympe Maxime played by Ian Whyte became many characters in “Game of Thrones” – a White Walker, the Mountain in season two and Wun Wun the giant.

The amazing Nymphadora Tonks portrayed by Natalia Tena joined “Game of Thrones” as the fearless wilding, Osha who tried to kill Ramsay Bolton but failed and got executed instead.

Dumbledore’s brother in the final Harry Potter” movie, Aberforth Dumbledore played by Ciaran Hinds might be recognized as Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall in “Game of Thrones”.

Cormac McLaggen, the cocky boy who annoyed Hermione at Proferssor Slughorn’s Christmas party, played by Freddis Stroma. He turned up in GOT’s sixth season as Sam Tarly’s younger brother, Dickon Tarly.
