9 Greatest Achievements of Wizkid

Earlier in the week, Nigerian music star, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, was celebrated worldwide by his teeming fans even though his birthday month is July.

Recall that in 2018, a former United States governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, had declared October 6 as Wizkid Day, citing several historic feats achieved by the superstar across the World; but his fans have declared February 4, as a day set aside to celebrate the singer.

A fan page, @TeamWizkidFc wrote on Twitter, “Every FEBRUARY 4 was set aside to celebrate the KING of Afrobeat @wizkidayo for his greatness and contribution to the development of Africa music at large. #WorldWizkidDay Red heartEagle.”

  2. Wizkid remains the first African Pop Star to perform and sell-out Royal Albert Hall In London
  3. He is also the first African Artiste to bag seven Billboard Nominations
  4. Also, the first Nigerian to win three Billboard Music Awards
  5. Wizkid is also the First Nigerian To Win An ASCAP Award
  6. Wizkid is the only Nigerian musician to have ever made the number one spot on the iTunes World Chart and went as far as maintaining that top spot for more than one week.
  7. Wizkid is the first Afro-Pop artiste to appear in the Guinness World Records
  8. Wizkid is the first Nigerian musician ever to model for fashion giant Dolce & Gabbana.
  9. Wizkid is the first Nigerian singer to win an NAACP image award.
