Segun Arinze buries the hatchet; reveals details of feud and reconciliation with Emeka Ike
Nigerian actor Segun Arinze has finally addressed the long-standing rumors of a feud between him and fellow actor Emeka Ike.
Arinze in a recent Interview opened up about the conflict, which originated from a leadership dispute within the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in 2009.
The controversy surrounding their feud has been a subject of interest in the Nigerian entertainment industry for many years. However, Arinze has now shed light on the matter, revealing that the issue has since been resolved, and the two actors have reconciled.
According to Arinze, the conflict arose from a disagreement over leadership within the AGN. Emeka Ike had contested for the presidency of the guild, while Arinze had supported another candidate. The disagreement eventually escalated into a full-blown feud, with both actors making public statements against each other.
However, in recent years, there has been a noticeable shift in their relationship. Arinze revealed that they have both moved on from their past differences and are now on good terms. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness and moving forward, stating that holding grudges can be detrimental to one’s well-being.
Arinze also took the opportunity to praise Emeka Ike’s talent as an actor, saying, “Emeka Ike is a good actor. We still speak and laugh about those things. It does not negate the fact that he is a talented actor.”
“The conflict ended naturally. We were not quarrelling. It was just about the position. That’s why I left the position. He also had other things to do.”
“Then time and chance happened. And we are growing old. He is my friend, and we are cool. I’ve asked him to go for lunch or dinner whenever he is around. “What are we having enemies for? The work I am doing is enough of a burden. Hate is a burden. Travel light. How long do you have to live in the world? You want to carry it on your shoulders? What do I need that animosity for?”
