A$AP Rocky charged over 2021 shooting

American rapper, Rakim Athelaston Mayers, popularly known as A$AP Rocky has received assault and weapons charges over a shooting that occured in 2021.

He was hit with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm with allegations of personally using a firearm.

This is coming after Rocky’s arrest back in April. He is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly being involved in a shooting that happened in November.

According to the police, an argument between “two acquaintances” had escalated. This resulted in the suspect firing a handgun at the victim. Afterwards, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is also accused of firing the weapon twice in the direction of the victim, who sustained a minor injury.

Authorities later identified Rocky as the suspect. If found guilty,he could face up to nine years in prison.

This is not the first time the 33 year old is having legal issues. In 2019 after he was arrested in Sweden for getting involved in a public fight with some alleged drug addicts.

He was jailed for a month after this.
