Actor Enyinna Nwigwe’s Portrait Set For Exhibition at US Museum
A portrait of Nigerian actor-cum-producer, Enyinna Nwigwe, has been picked for a permanent exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African Art in the United States.
The portrait which was created by a Nigerian-American photographer, Iké Udé, was chosen to join thousands of traditional and contemporary African art from both Sub-Saharan and North Africa on permanent exhibition at the museum.
The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African Art, situated within the National Mall in Washington DC, has housed famous items like Mohammed Ali’s boxing headgear as well as Oprah Winfrey’s studio couch.
It has also sheltered works like Harriet Tubman’s shawl since its opening in 2016 by former President Barack Obama.

The exhibition is to come after Nwigwe starred in Black November, an action drama, alongside Vivica Fox, Akon, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, and Wyclef Jean.
He was acknowledged by the State of Texas and won the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award from the Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards (NAFCA).
Enyinna Nwigwe began his career in university as a runway and print model before transitioning to acting. He made his film debut in Wheel of Change, a 2004 film directed by Jeta Amata. He now travels between LA and Nigeria to work.
