Nollywood star Femi Adebayo has come to the defense of his friend and colleague, Odunlade Adekola, following backlash against Adekola’s latest movie, ‘Warlord’.
The criticism came from a social media user who attacked Adekola for wearing multiple hats on the project, writing: “Na you go be producer, main character, singer, director. Na why your movies no dey make sense. Do better.”

In a thoughtful response, Femi Adebayo urged fans and critics to show respect and approach the film with an open mind, stressing that filmmaking is a collective effort.
He wrote: “I’ve seen a couple of tweets from this handle about my brother’s movie. You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion, no doubt. But typing from behind a keyboard doesn’t make every opinion accurate or fair. Let’s keep it respectful — this is someone’s craft, blood, sweat, and passion.”

The actor continued; “Filmmaking is teamwork: directors, writers, crew, actors… everyone brings their A-game. This particular project is my brother’s vision. Please, go to a cinema near you, watch ‘Warlord’ with an open heart and clear eyes, then share your honest thoughts.”
“That’s the fair way. Not quick fingers and harsh words before even seeing the work,” he concluded.
Released on the 28 of November 2025 with a star-powered premiere on the 26th of November, Warlord: Olori Ogun had a 38.1 million Naira rampage in its first opening week.
