Actor Ijebu’s ₦1.8 Trillion Data Claim Sparks Controversy

Nigerian actor Amokade Olatayo, Ijebu has generated a significant burst on social media after claiming he spent one point eight trillion Naira on data subscription in year 2025.

The video which quickly circulated on social media, gained tons of reactions from fans asking questions if the figure was exaggerated or was just for content making.

The actor claimed to have calculated every amount spent on data from January to December and discovered he had spent such amount.

A user on X formerly known as Twitter, with the user name warlord, questioned why a so called celebrity seem not to have an internet broadband. He wrote: “As you get money reach, you no fit buy starlink wi-fi.” Another user, Tio said: “A one year data plan cost 200k, why do people lie na.” 

A user Oluwatobiloba jokingly stated: “Shank and Cater Efe go spend reach 75.8 trillion be that.”

Kuls Kuls questioned the actor’s claim saying; “Your total value is not even up to half a million talkless of you spend 1.8 trillion naira.”
