Veteran Nigerian actress, Jaiye Kuti, is expressing anger towards her colleagues for failing to support her movie after it was taken down across various cinemas in the country.
According to the thespian whose real name is Jayeola Monje, she doesn’t like her colleagues expressing fake love towards her, and she has had enough.

While speaking on Oyinmomo TV, she said the relationships in the industry are gradually breaking down because everyone is facing the same problems, but prefers to keep quiet. She noted how everybody is just acting and pretending things are okay, even while knowing where the challenge/problem is.
While questioning the public’s admiration for celebrities, she recalled that when she complained about her movie being removed from several cinemas, none of her colleagues stood by her or publicly supported her.

Lamenting the fake love in the industry, she pointed out that on her birthdays, they’re quick to send birthday wishes, yet are silent when she needs their help.
Jaiye said that due to their lack of support, she has stopped celebrating them on their birthdays and wants them to reciprocate.
She said, “The people you’re emulating, and looking at as an example, do you really want to know them? The people you call celebrities and follow on social media.
Not one actor went to those cinemas or even supported me, although we’re all going through the same thing.
But if I celebrate my birthday, the next day, they’d wish me a happy birthday. So I stopped wishing people a happy birthday because I don’t want anyone to wish me one. Please don’t”.
Jaiye also lamented the financial burden of film production and cinema distribution, noting that many people don’t understand what it takes for producers to recover their investments.
