Veteran Nollywood actor Akin Lewis has shared how the sudden end of his first marriage deeply affected him.
Akin said, “I still don’t understand why my first wife left. Even after all these years, it remains a mystery to me. The sudden end of that marriage shook me deeply, and it left questions I never got answers to. It caused me intense pain.”
According to the veteran, the experience changed his perspective on relationships and people. It also encouraged him to focus more on personal growth and his film career.
He explained that his first marriage ended when his wife chose to leave, even though he tried to make it work. He later remarried because he did not want to stay single.

Akin began his acting career in the 1970s and has appeared in many Nigerian movies and television shows over more than five decades.
In the same conversation, Akim also spoke about how veteran actors are often paid low fees and emphasized the need for fair compensation for long careers in the industry.
