Veteran Nollywood actor Opebe has stirred concern on social media after filmmaker Kunle Afod asked for urgent help due to his worsening health.
Afod made the appeal on Friday after visiting Opebe at his home in Ibadan. He shared a video asking Nigerians and people in the industry to help Opebe.
Afod said Opebe’s health keeps getting worse, and he now needs medical help and support.

“Our fans, we have come again this time around for one of our elders in the industry, Baba Opebe. He’s not feeling healthy. His health is diminishing,” Afod said.
The filmmaker asked anyone who can help, whether individuals or organisations, to come forward, saying Opebe needs support during this difficult time.
Opebe shared that he has been dealing with this health problem since last year, even though he has had several medical tests.
The actor said doctors still do not know exactly what is wrong, but they told him he has low blood levels and gave him four pints of blood.
“I have done a series of tests but nothing was found. They only told me that I’m short of blood and I was given four pints of blood,” Opebe said.
He added that he had visited different hospitals in search of answers but his condition had continued to worsen.
Opebe, known for his contributions to Yoruba Nollywood, has been absent from movie screens due to his health struggles.
Kunle Afod’s appeal come days after veteran actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, disclosed that their father had been diagnosed with stage four cancer.

Kira said the family discovered the illness about three weeks earlier and that it had affected his abdomen. She also said some hospitals had informed the family that they could no longer continue with chemotherapy.
The family appealed to medical professionals and hospitals with the expertise and facilities to treat Ogogo, saying they were seeking medical assistance rather than financial donations. The actor was also said to be unfit to travel abroad for treatment.
