Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has paid an emotional tribute to his late friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele who died in a road accident in December.

Joshua had minor injuries in the incident on Monday, December 29, in Makun, Ogun State, while he was heading to his family home in Sagamu.

On Sunday, Joshua made his first public comment about the incident by posting a tribute to his late friends on social media.

He wrote on Instagram: “My Brother’s Keeper.” He also shared a photo with the families of Sina and Latz.

The Janaza, or funeral prayer, for Anthony Joshua’s close friends is scheduled for Sunday in London.

Many people gathered at the London Central Mosque for the Janaza prayer. Ghami’s funeral is expected to take place at Hendon Cemetery and Crematorium starting at noon.

A wake for the pair is also scheduled to take place from around 3pm at Cavendish Banqueting Hall in North West London. Joshua was born in Watford and spent much of his youth in North London and Hertfordshire.

It would be recalled that the driver of the car involved in the crash, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, was charged by the Ogun State Police Command with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a licence.

The case has been adjourned until January 20.

The defendant was granted bail in the sum of N5 million and was remanded pending his bail conditions being met.
