Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake, born Ahmed Ololade, has returned to Lagos after spending nearly a year in California, U.S., where he was reportedly working on expanding his global music reach.
His arrival at the Lagos airport on Sunday evening was met with excitement both online and offline, with fans praising his return just in time for the Detty December season.
Asake’s label boss and mentor, Olamide, shared photos of the artist’s homecoming, subtly hinting at big December plans.

Asake had relocated to Los Angeles earlier in 2025 to collaborate with international artists and grow Afrobeats on a global scale.

However, his return to Lagos has sparked rumors of surprise appearances at major Nigerian concerts and possibly new music releases.
