Atlanta season 3 coming in early 2022

It’s been over three years since the last episode of Donald Glover’s Atlanta aired on FX and now it looks like that wait is about to end.

No premiere date has been announced yet but according to FX chief John Landgraf, the new season will debut in the “first half of 2022”.

Landgraf made this announcement during the virtual Television Critics Association press tour on Friday. He also added that filming on Season 3 has already been concluded.

“We haven’t locked down the scheduling for Season 3 yet. It’s finished shooting. It shot primarily in Europe, actually, and it’s in post-production, but it’s a lengthy post-production process. Part of the reason it’s lengthy is because they’re in production on Season 4 right now in Atlanta. And all of the scripts for Season 4 have been written.” He said in his virtual press conference.

On an actual premiere date, he added “I think we’ll be able to lock down an actual date for Season 3 and maybe for both cycles within the next couple of months.”
