Baba Ijesha molested my daughter – Princess Comedian
Comedienne Damilola Adekoya, AKA Princess Comedian, revealed that the 14-year-old girl that Olarenwaju Omiyinka AKA Baba Ijesha, molested is her adopted daughter.
She made the revelation in videos uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday morning. Princess said Baba Ijesha has confessed four times to the police that he abused the girl when she was seven years old. According to her, the comedian betrayed her trust and years of mentorship by raping her ward.
Princess said the pain of the abuse was too much; but what hurt more was people’s insensitivity to the matter in asking for CCTV footage. She said amid tears that she was particularly upset at fellow actress and self-confessed rape survivor Foluke Daramola; who endorsed a statement by actor Yomi Fabiyi defended Baba Ijesha. Without mentioning Foluke’s name, Princess asked if there was video evidence when she claimed she was raped years ago.

Princess also advised victims of Baba Ijesha to come forward and speak or send her a DM to expose him for the abuser that he is. She also called for abuse victims in general to DM her so they can collectively seek justice against their rapists.

Baba Ijesha’s arrest went public after Lagos police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi released a statement. The statement reads: “The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Olarenwaju James ‘male’ 48, aka Baba Ijesha, popular Nollywood actor for defiling a minor.”
“The case of defilement was reported on 19th April 2021 by one Princess Adekola Adekanya ‘female’ at Sabo Police Station and transferred to the Gender Unit of the State CID, Panti, Yaba Lagos for proper investigation. Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14 years, when she was seven years old. The suspect confessed to the crime. There is also CCTV footage from the house of the complainant.”
