BBC Premieres New Film that Documents Fela’s Lifestyle and Activism

BBC has over the weekend, premiered a new film that Afro-beat pioneer and Nigerian music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Directed by Half of a Yellow Sun director, Biyi Bandele, the BBC new film showcases never seen before archival footage of Fela.

The 1 hour, 22 minutes documentary titled –Fela Kuti: Father of Afro-beat, also displays detailing insight of the maverick performer’s lifestyle and activism.

However, due to rights issues, the documentary currently stream on BBC Two, which is exclusive to viewers in the United Kingdom (UK).
