BBNaija’s Yerins makes acting debut in comedy series ‘Okirika’
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Yerins Abraham will make his Bollywood debut in a forthcoming comedy series ‘Okirika‘.
Yerins made the announcement through his Twitter handle on Tuesday.
He wrote “Glad to announce that I’ll be making my first Film and Movie Debut with the Okrika TV series”
The reality tv star joins other nollywood stars such as Real Warri Pikin, Mercy Eke, Ini Edo, Korede Bello, Woli Agba, Broda Shaggi, and Priscilla Ojo.
Others are Zicsaloma, Jide Kosoko, Olaiya Igwe, Yinka Quadri, Binta Ayo-Mogaji, Toro Aramide, Yvonne Jegede, Jide ‘Jblaze’ Oyegbile.
Produced by Muka Ray, ‘Okirika screened at an event in Lagos last September.
‘Okrika’ comedy movie series centres on the fairly used clothes trading business in Lagos. It also incorporates the nuances of street area boys.
Speaking about the series, Ray said “Being one of the happiest people on earth, Nigerians have an enviable knack to indulge in what makes them happy. Cinema figures have shown that comedy attracts huge patronage.
“And comedy skits on social media are widely viewed. We are quite aware of what Nigerians are passionate about. ‘Okirika’ will surely wow their fantasies.”
Ojo, coordinator of the project, also said “Although we are going to be entertaining you, taking out the stress, making you laugh, and catching fun; Okirika will also be educative.”
In August, Yerins left the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition of the Big Brother Naija reality tv show.
