Nigerian music superstar Davido has turned what could have been a moment of disappointment into a display of resilience and couple goals after missing out on a Grammy nomination at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
In a post shared on his official X account late Monday evening, the “5IVE” hitmaker recounted a lighthearted exchange with his wife, Chioma Rowland-Adeleke, following the news. Davido wrote: “I said baby listen, we lost again let’s not go she said ‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat’ we outside.”

The message, accompanied by four stylish photos of the couple stepping out together, gained lots of reactions from his fans who praised Chioma, dubbing her line as “queen wisdom”.

The Grammys, held earlier in the day (U.S. time), saw South African star Tyla take home accolades in key categories, fueling reactions across social media.
Davido has however received nothing but massive love from fans and well wishers. The superstar’s uncle who is also the Governor of Osun State expressed how proud he is for his nephew.
Nigerian commentators, including activist VeryDarkMan, expressed disappointment on behalf of Davido and the Afrobeats community, with some questioning the Recording Academy’s criteria for African music recognition.
