Actress Crystle Stewart Distances Self from ‘Beauty in Black’ Villain Role

American actress Crystle Stewart has attempted to distance her real-life personality from her villainous character in the popular television series ‘‘Beauty in Black”.

Appearing at the American Black Film Festival, “Beauty in Black” stars Taylor Polidore and Crystle Stewart spoke with Baller Alert to discuss the series’ explosive success, the passionate fan reaction, and the surprising international audience that continues to embrace the show.

For Polidore, who plays fan favourite Kimmie, the scale of the response remains surreal.

I mean, life has changed a lot because it is a worldwide hit, which is crazy to say,” Polidore told Baller Alert.

“We’re so grateful for all the supporters and the way that the people rally around the show. And it’s in the group chat. And it’s grandma to the kids. And, you know, I couldn’t have asked for a better reception to a show because we want to entertain. We want people to like it. So, we’re all just super grateful. But life has changed a lot,” she added.

Equally, Beauty in Black debuted on Netflix on October 24, 2024, and immediately became one of the streamer’s most-watched series.

The drama climbed to No. 1 on Netflix’s global television rankings during its second week and reached the top spot in 28 countries. The show’s momentum continued into Season 2, which was released in two parts, helping establish “Beauty in Black” as one of Tyler Perry’s most successful streaming franchises. Netflix has already confirmed the series will conclude with a third and final season.
