Former Big Brother Naija star Chidimma Esther Okagbue, popularly known as Bella, has taken formal legal steps against her ex-partner Segun Olusemo, aka Sheggz, demanding billions of naira in damages.
In a demand letter dated August 2026 and circulated widely on Monday, Bella’s lawyers accused Sheggz of repeated physical assault, verbal abuse, emotional and mental torture, and an attempted murder by asphyxiation.
They specifically referenced an October 2023 incident in which Sheggz allegedly assaulted her, locked her inside his residence and prevented her from leaving.
Bella is said to have sent a message to his mother at the time, pleading for intervention so she could return home.
The lawyers further claimed that Bella had expressed fear over threats to her life and repeated strangulation, with some conversations documented in November 2025.
On the financial front, they cited outstanding loans of ₦19.826 million and £10,237. They also accused Sheggz of repeatedly promising to marry her, including a May 2024 message in which he referred to her as his future wife.

Bella is demanding ₦500 million for the alleged breach of promise to marry and ₦2 billion for physical, emotional and psychological trauma.
Additional requests include the withdrawal of alleged defamatory publications, removal of her images from Sheggz’s social media pages, and a public apology.
Sheggz was given three days to comply, failing which further legal action and an extra claim of ₦5 billion in exemplary damages would follow.
The development marks the latest escalation in the public fallout between the former couple.
