The tenth edition of the most watched Nigerian reality show, Big Brother Naija kicked off on Saturday, July 26 to an exciting start. The event received predominantly positive reception from netizens who are usually cruel, brash and sometimes, vicious with their statements.
They were relaxed with the coterie of the contestants who were introduced to the show.
One might ask, why’s that?
The answer is simple, beautiful women were introduced on the show. Fifteen good looking women were brought on the screen for viewers to fascinate and drool over. It’s pivotal to mention that women have the capacity to enthrall, charm and captivate viewers with their appearance, especially if they are pretty.

Importance of Pretty Women On Television Screen
Let’s walk down memory lane, in 2020, Rebecca Hampson who is better known as Nengi was introduced as the concluding housemate on the Big Brother Naija Lockdown edition.
Her carriage, warmth and femininity kept the audience stunned, she didn’t do much, she was simply stunning. While male contestants such as Tricky Tee and especially eventual winner, Laycon was dragged to filth on the microblogging site, X, Nengi gave viewers a reason to watch the reality show.
Men admired her physique, women stared at her in envy, she would eventually remain in the house and finish as one of the finalists. She didn’t have to be hilarious, entertaining or express immense talent like Laycon or excuse her mammary glands like that year’s runner up, Dorathy, she was simply a ‘ratings magnet’. She brought the views and this explains why women were introduced first in this season’s edition.
Women bring the viewership and attract the male audience who are usually passive or pretend to not care. Put a pretty women on the screen and they’ll care to do some research. It’s a strategy in advertising and other entertainment sectors- the eye candy will always bring in the ‘ants’ or insects, if you will.

Are We Going to See A Female Winner?
Three women have already won reality show. In 2019, Mercy Eke made history when she became the first woman to win the reality show, three season later, Phyna went home with the award before Ilebaye clinched the championship in 2023 but had to make sure Eke doesn’t win the competition for the second time.
The contestants of the new season have guaranteed to bring drama, chaos and violence like their predecessors have done in time past. It would be interesting to see how they will be performing in the coming days.
