Blackface Drops Own Version Of “African Queen” 15 Years After Claiming 2Baba Stole It

15 years after the release of “African Queen” by 2Baba Idibia, Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, known popularly as Blackface, has released his own version.

The track which was a major hit in 2004 created bad blood between the former Plantashun Boiz member and his band mates. Blackface claimed to have composed the song and even demanded its ownership.

Taking to his Instagram page on Sunday, 8th September, Blackface announced that he has released the new track and equally went ahead to share it via same medium.

However, in a recent concert in Festac, (a residential area in Lagos) the duo met on stage and called truce to their disagreement. On stage, Blackface promised to stop haunting 2face and drop all allegations against him. But with the release of Blackface’s version, we wonder if there is still trouble in paradise.

Blackface was a founding member of the Nigerian band Plantashun Boyz that he formed in 2000 with Tuface (also known as 2Baba Idibia) and musician Chibuzor Oji (better known as Faze).
The financial and legal implication of this move is yet unknown, but listen to Blackface’s version of African Queen below:
