Bobby Shmurda Released From Jail: 10 Fun Facts About the Rapper

American rapper, Ackquille Jean Pollard, popularly known as Bobby Shmurda has regained his freedom. The rapper was released from New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility on Tuesday after serving six years in prison.

The 26-year-old rapper will return to his family and devote his time to making music which has always been his passion.

  • In 2014, he announced himself to the world with his hit single, ‘Hot Nigga.’
  • He released his debut EP, Shmurda She Wrote, on November 10, 2014.
  • On December 18, 2014, New York City Police arrested Shmurda, and he was subsequently charged with conspiracy to murder, weapons possession, and reckless endangerment.
Bobby Shmurda reportedly denied parole
  •  In 2016, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years in prison, which was reduced to five years after receiving credit for the two years he already served awaiting trial.
  • In 2018, he was featured on rapper 6ix9ine’s song “Stoopid”, which peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. 
  • Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel are the founders and considered the pioneers of Brooklyn drill music.
  • On September 21, 2020, Bobby Shmurda was reportedly denied parole, which originally meant he would serve his full sentence.
  • Following his release, the rapper will under parole supervision for the next 5 years until Feb. 23, 2026.
