Brad Pitt Donates $1m to Anti-racism Charity
Brad Pitt, an American actor has made a $1million donation to Color of Change, an anti-racism organisation Just a few days after Jennifer Aniston, his ex wife made the same donation.
According to The Mirror the 56-year old Once Upon A Time in Hollywood star had pledged to match Aniston’s donation of $1M to Color of Change.
“Brad is really involved with the charity because of Jen and said he would match her donation. He went to the protests this week and was at her home the day after. They are both very passionate and want to help as much as they can,” a source was quoted to have said.
Aniston had donated six-figures to the organization last week and has been vocal about ending racism.
Following the death of George Floyd who died while in the custody of the Minneapolis, Minn., police on May 25, the actress had called for systemic change.
“This week has been heartbreaking for so many reasons. We need to acknowledge that the racism and brutality in this country has been going on for a long time – and it’s NEVER been okay,” she wrote on Instagram. “As allies, who want equality and peace, it’s our responsibility to make noise, to demand justice, to educate ourselves on these issues, and more than anything, to spread love. How much more time are we willing to let pass without change? HOW MUCH MORE TIME?”⠀
Like Aniston, Brad Pitt, her ex has been standing with the Black Lives Matter movement — both financially and physically. Last week he joined other A-listers at a demonstration in Hollywood for Floyd.
