Britney Spears announces engagement to Sam Ashgari
American singer, Britney Spears is engaged to Iranian born American actor, Sam Asghari. The duo announced their engagement on Instagram on Sunday after more than four years of dating. They met on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video.
Spears and Asghari shared the happy news on Instagram. According to Ashgari’s manager,
“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today. They are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them.”
In an interview with Forbes in March, the Iranian-born actor opened up about the beginning of his relationship with Spears and admitted he was ready to take the next step in his career and relationship. The 29 year old fitness enthusiast said,
“My priorities in life are to remain humble and understand where I came from and where I’m going. I want to take my career to the next level. And my relationship to the next step, as well. I don’t mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad.”
This is coming after the 39 year old singer’s battle to end her 13-year conservatorship is seemingly coming to an end.
Spears previously revealed in a testimony during a conservatorship, her intention to marry her now-fiance and have a child with him.
