Veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, has revealed why she ventured into the Nigerian film industry.
At a recent panel in Lagos, the film star explained that she chose acting not for fame, but so her children could find her when they are older.
She shared that her children were taken from her when they were very young, after she married into a wealthy family that doubted she would accomplish anything meaningful.
The actress also said that despite those painful times, she is proud of the life she has built today.
“I actually started acting so that when my children grow up, they would be able to know where to find me. I never thought of becoming a star,” she said.
“My children were taken from me when they were very young because I married into a very wealthy family, and they did not think I would become anything in life. And here I am today!”
Wright began her acting career in 1996.
