Is everyone buried nowadays?
Is everyone buried behind a cell phone, a smartphone, or their laptop? Everyone prefers to be online, seeking validation from those they don’t know or faux friends online. Nowadays, no one engages in small talk or exchanges eye contact; everyone buries their head in their cell phones, blocks their ears with their headphones, and neglects the immediate environment.

Despite the emergence of various social networking sites such as Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter), humans have become more distant now more than ever. They have become accustomed to running away from their daily reality into virtual reality, a place of cruise, fun, vibes, and, most recently, a reckless agenda.
They abscond from genuine human interaction to build a reality outside of their physical environs. The modern human has lost touch with present reality due to the absence of their mind; they bury their faces in their cell phones just to interact with another personality who is absconding from their own reality.

How Social Media Buried Genuine Human Connection

No one wants to dance and groove anymore; everyone’s head is buried in their cell phones, scrolling through their Instagram feed to laugh at the latest Sabinus skits. The adorable young lady who left her home after voraciously anticipating the night event refused to get up and dance because she is too prim and proper to groove with others on the dance floor.
Cell phones have usurped the vivacity of humanity, leaving us with a drab atmosphere where everyone has forgotten how to live. To enjoy the epicureanism of life is human; to forget how to live is like surreptitiously applying a dagger to one’s heart, you’re steadily taking breath out of your own lungs. Courtesy of cell phones and social media, humans are denying themselves the opportunity to genuinely enjoy the moment and embrace the beauty that humans have to offer.

Every time you bury your face in the bright light emanating from your cell phone screen, you have denied yourself the opportunity to network with someone and possibly make new friends. You have missed the opportunity to put a bright smile on someone’s face. Every conversation you skip because you’re afraid of human interaction, you have failed to make someone smile; you have failed to make someone’s day.

Conclusion

Communication is beautiful, as stated in the social sciences, humans are social animals; therefore, socialize and have a good time. For human interaction to get better, people have to put their cell phones aside and build a genuine connection with their next-door neighbour.
Don’t bury your face in your cell phone when you see your neighbour coming; say hello. Network and establish healthy relationships; this is the only way humanity can progress.
It is important to note that social media is an integral part of our lives in recent times; however, it mustn’t be given the chance to take away genuine human interaction. Humans should endeavour to establish conversations with those who are in the same room with them rather than desiring attention from someone who is seven oceans away from where they are.
Instead of being controlled by dopamine and the urge for validation from fellow social media users, engage with the next person rather than disregarding them by scrolling on your cell phone every sixty seconds.
