Burna Boy throw shades again this week with a post on his Instagram page stating that if viral joke songs could have amazing streaming numbers, then no artiste should get overly excited about the millions of views they get on the internet.
“This streaming shit be making people think they’re actually talented. If joke tings like ‘Baby Shark’ and ‘Gangman style’ can do more numbers than Everyone, Don’t think you are talented or Respected cuz of your streaming numbers. Everyone with real working brains know what is a joke and what is real. Anyway plenty talk no Dey full basket. Let Time reveal all,” the post read.
DMW Singer, Mayorkun, on the other hand isn’t taking it sitting down, as he fires directs shots, making it quite clear that Burna was referring to him celebrating attaining 70million streams across different musical platforms a few days back.
Reacting to Burna Boy’s post, Mayorkun reminded him that he also got into limelight via streaming when his ‘Ye’ track was mistaken by many fans as a song belonging to Kanye West, whose alias is Ye.
Taking to Twitter, Mayorkun wrote: “Imagine blasting me on top streams when e be sey na because of Kanye West na him Ye take blow. It’s all love down here still #DMW.”
Burnaboy is known to be extreme when it comes to things like this, but fans of both artistes will stay glued and watch how this plays out.
