Burna Boy becomes first African artist to perform at the Grammys live event

The Grammys have announced that Nigerian megastar Burna Boy will perform at the 2024 live award show.

This will mark another historic moment for Africa.

Burna Boy will make history as the first African artist to perform at the Grammys live recording awards show. This is according to an announcement made on Monday.

This is another historic achievement for the Nigerian superstar. He was also the first Nigerian artist in the Nigerian music industry to win a Grammy in 2021 for Best Global Album for his fifth album, ‘Twice As Tall’.

Burna Boy has been nominated for four Grammys in 2024. He has set a Nigerian record for the most nominations in a single year.

His nominations include Best Melodic Rap Performance for his single ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’. It features 21 Savage, making him the first Nigerian lead artist to be nominated outside of the global categories.

Burna Boy will perform at the 2024 Grammy Awards for the second time, having previously performed at the 2021 Grammys Premiere show.
