Burna Boy Nominated for 2020 Grammy Awards

Burna Boy has ascended to a globally loved superstar. The Nigerian Afro- fusion singer has made the list of nominees for 2020 Grammy awards. His album, The African Giant was nominated for the Best World Music Album.

The albums and musicians that were nominated in the Best World Music Album Category for 2020 Grammy awards include : Gece: Altin Gun, What Heat: Bokante & Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley, African Giant: Burna Boy, Fanm d’Ayiti: Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet, Celia: Anjelique kidjo.

Nominees were led by Lizzo with eight nominations. Following closely is Billie Elilish and Lil Nas X with six nominations.

Nigerian music stars have also taken to their social media pages to congratulate the African Giant on his well deserved nomination including Burna‘s alleged girlfriend, Stefflondon.

Burna Boy joins the list of Nigerian stars who have been nominated in the Best World Music Category. The likes of Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade. Other Nigerian Grammy nominees include; Wizkid, Timaya, Babatunde Olatunji and Kah Lo. Sikiru Adepoju still remains the only Nigerian to win a Grammy Awards.

While Burna Boy‘s South African show has been cancelled, he still remains a giant in many respects.
