Burna Boy Talks Ink-Spiration In New GQ Feature

Following his outstanding appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Burna Boy recently linked up with international monthly men’s magazine, GQ. The magazine featured the artiste in YouTube interview titled – “Tattoo Tour With Burna Boy” – where he reveals the origins and inspiration behind each tattoo on his body.

Burna’s press run after the release of relatively his best album so far, “African Giant”, has been nothing short of monumental. GQ’s “Tattoo Tour”, is an ongoing concept in which they speak to a bunch of different musicians about the inspiration behind their ink. Renowned artists like Justin Bieber, Trey Songz, 21 Savage, Post Malone, Tyga, Ty Dolla $ign, amongst others have been featured in the series.

According to Burna Boy, “Every tattoo I’ve got is a part of me,” so he advises that you only get tattoos that matter to you since you’re stuck with them for life.
In the video, he reveals how each tat is a representation of his interests, even down to the “Stewie tat” (a character on ABC’s Family Guy). He also sports tattoos of his debut album, his family members, his favourite psalm, Fela Kuti and more.
