Nostalgia must be one hell of a drug because “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” producer Charles Okpaleke is plotting to release a sequel for the 1994 classic “Glamour Girls”.

According to reports, the “Glamour Girls” sequel is underway. Apparently, Okpaleke has acquired the rights to the movie. He achieved this under the media subsidiary of the Play Network Africa, where he is a co-founder. ‘

Charles Okpaleke confirmed his decision to finance the making of the “Glamour Girls” sequel saying, “One down! On to the next! We can’t stop!”

This comes after Charles Okpaleke’s profitable investment in ‘Living in Bondage: Breaking Free’. The film yielded over N140 million within the first few weeks of its release in cinemas.

‘Glamour Girls’ tells the story of a village girl whose friend introduces her to high-end prostitution in Lagos. The film featured Liz Benson, Eucharia Anunobi, Zack Orji, Ernest Obi, Ngozi Ezeonu, Gloria Anozie Young, Pat Attah, Sandra Achums, Sola Fosudo, Jennifer Okere, Barbara Odoh, Ngozi Ikpelu, and Raymond Johnson.

Kenneth Nnebue’s NEK limited produced “Glamour Girls”. He was also the executive producer of 1992 classic, “Living in Bondage”.

From Disney to Nollywood, there seems to be an obsession with remaking classics. Considering that the world is a lot more messed up than it was 20 years ago, this could possibly stem from people tying nostalgia to safety. Like we said earlier, nostalgia is one hell of a drug and the people are buying it.
