Former Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has returned to the Cape Town Regional Court as South African authorities continue efforts to deport her over her immigration status.
The court proceedings were held behind closed doors, with no details released and no final ruling or new hearing date announced.
Adetshina and her son are accused of residing in South Africa without valid immigration documents, allegations she is challenging through legal channels.

The case stems from the controversy surrounding her participation in the 2024 Miss South Africa pageant, which led to her withdrawal from the competition before she went on to win Miss Universe Nigeria and later emerged as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.

She was arrested in Cape Town in June and later released on warning, with conditions requiring her to remain at her registered address and keep immigration authorities informed of any changes to her residence or movements.

South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs insists she has no lawful residential status in the country and had earlier declared her a prohibited person under the Immigration Act.
However, officials have stated that Adetshina could not have been involved in the alleged identity fraud linked to her mother because she was only an infant when the incident allegedly occurred.
