Chrissy Teigen apologises for past online bullying

Teigen

American model and television personality Chrissy Teigen has been accused of sending bullying messages online. Tiegen has since apologised for sending offensive messages to American media personality Courtney Stodden on social media when she was a teenager.

Teigen apologized for abusing Stodden online ten years ago. She also admitted that she was young and “an insecure, attention-seeking troll” at the time.

The 35-year-old is currently married to the talented multiple award-winning singer, John Legend. Teigen has now publicly apologised to her over 13 million Twitter followers in a series of tweets. She did this after Stodden spoke in a recent interview about bullying.

“I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behaviour but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel. I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly,” she said.

Stodden not sure of apology

Courtney Stodden is sceptical of Chrissy Teigen’s apology. She expressed this after the cookbook author expressed guilt for cyberbullying the reality TV star when she was a child.

Stodden took to Instagram on Wednesday to say that she accepted Teigen’s apologies and forgive her. However, she added that she had doubts about Teigen’s motives.

The celebrity wrote: “All of me wants to believe this is a sincere apology, but it feels like a public attempt to save her partnerships with Target and other brands who are realizing her ‘wokeness’ is a broken record.” Stodden also adds that she “never heard from (Teigen) or her camp in private.”

According to Stodden, Teigen has also gone as far as blocking her on Twitter. Stodden rose to fame as the teen wife of actor Doug Hutchison, who was 51 at the time. She opened up about Teigen’s tweets and private messages in an interview that was published recently.

The 26-year-old said: “She wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself.” Stodden added that some of the tweets dated back to 2011 and 2012.
