The Don-Momoh family has been thrown into mourning following the death of Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, the wife of Teddy Don-Momoh, widower of late gospel singer Kefee.
Her passing comes barely two weeks after she and her husband celebrated the birth of their first child together.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by the family in an official statement posted on Lara’s Instagram page.
According to the announcement, she died peacefully after a brief illness, leaving behind her husband, newborn child, family and loved ones.
The family said: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh. After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully.”
The family appealed to the public to respect their privacy as they come to terms with the painful loss. They also requested prayers for Lara’s soul and for the strength to endure what they described as an immeasurable tragedy.
The statement read: “During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss.”
The Don-Momoh family further disclosed that details of Lara’s funeral arrangements would be announced in due course, while expressing appreciation to everyone who has reached out with messages of support and condolences since the news broke.

The statement added: “Further details regarding the funeral arrangements and other family matters will be communicated in due course. We sincerely thank everyone for the love, support, prayers, and understanding extended to the family during this difficult time.”
Lara’s passing has left many in shock, particularly because it comes only weeks after she and Teddy Don-Momoh welcomed their first child together, a joyful milestone that was widely celebrated by friends, family and well-wishers on social media.
Teddy Don-Momoh was previously married to renowned gospel singer Kefee, who passed away in June 2014 following complications from a lung-related illness.
Lara’s untimely death has since sparked an outpouring of condolences, with many offering prayers and words of comfort to the grieving family during this difficult period.
